It was a great pleasure for Dr. Leila Mekacher to participate in the three-day “Water in Transition” symposium last week, organized by Prof. Dr. Ulrike Gayh as part of the Volkswagen Foundation’s themed week “Water Between Extremes.” The symposium focused on topics such as AI in water management, water literacy, and critical water issues. She would like to extend her sincere thanks to Prof. Dr. Ulrike Gayh for the outstanding organization and to Benjamin Zierock for the creative and inspiring hackathon. In her dual role as Head of Digital Research & Innovation at SRH Berufsbildungswerk Neckargemünd and Managing Director of Innoversa Factory, she gave a presentation entitled “Innovative Education with VR Escape Rooms, AI-Generated Media, and Interactive 360° VR Experiences.” Her team enabled participants—from researchers to industry representatives—to experience developments in VR, MR, 360° VR, gamification, and AI firsthand and explore their use in water and industry projects. She also had the opportunity to present collaborative projects with Prof. Gayh.
